Bookaroo children’s festival

October 28th, 2010

I’m in the middle of working out travel arrangements for India. Museum of Thieves is being published there by Hachette India, just in time for Bookaroo, the children’s literary festival which is held once a year in Delhi at the end of November. Wendy Orr, author of Nim’s Island and The Princess and her Panther, is also going from Australia, and I’m looking forward to meeting some Indian children’s authors, not to mention some Indian children! I’m giving two workshops, one on Fingertalk and one on Mysterious Beasts (where the brizzlehound will definitely get a mention).

I’ve also just received my comp copies of the audio version of Museum, read by Claudia Black. It comes in six CDs and looks wonderful. I haven’t listened to it yet, mind. I have such a strong idea in my head of how everyone in the book sounds, and what the First Song sounds like etc, that I’m not sure I want to hear someone else’s version. Perhaps I will gather my courage over the next few days and give it a go …
