How people find my website

April 4th, 2012

One of the interesting things about having a website is looking at the admin pages behind what everyone else sees.

These pages tell me how many hits there have been, and what people have looked at – though they don’t tell me who you are. πŸ™‚ One of the things I like to check is the search engine terms that people have used to find me. It’s usually something obvious like ‘lian tanner’ or ‘when will path of beasts be published’ or ‘the keepers trilogy’.

But sometimes it’s a bit strange. Like yesterday. Someone searched for ‘bedroom smells like a corpse’. And whose website did they find, at the top of the search list? Mine! (Try it and see.) All because of this post about finding a dead mouse in the spare room.

I can’t help wondering why that person was searching, though …

Oh, how hilarious! I did search it, ha ha, your website was the fifth on the list! That must make you feel special XD

    1. Lian says:

It does make you wonder what that person was searching for, though, doesn’t it! πŸ™‚

    Dear Lian ,

Maybe they were searching something RANDOM !

I will have to say it must make you feel very special !

I wonder if the people actually looked at that post and commented on it as that is what they were looking for !

    1. Lian says:

Dear Lilli, they didn’t comment – didn’t say a word! Perhaps they had just found a corpse in their own bedroom and were looking for useful hints as to how to get rid of it. They would then have been most disappointed to discover that my corpse was merely a mouse. πŸ˜‰

  3. Lilli says:

Personally ,from the experiences I have heard about corpses …

The mouse would be much better!

    1. Lian says:

Oh yes, definitely! I don’t think I would have been nearly so calm if it was human!

  4. Rachel says:

I checked it out and yes, i saw it! I thought it was funny because it was random. What is the relation?

  5. Rachel says:

I just read back on some of those, and I get it now! I am still surprised they found that, but it is related. Ha ha! Because of the dead mouse! πŸ˜€

    1. Lian says:

Exactly. Though it still puzzles me as to why they were searching!

  6. Rachel says:

It does make you think hard…
