Path of Beasts coming in October

Only six months to go until the Keepers Book 3, Path of Beasts, is published. And we’re counting down! Here are a couple of very nice comments from people who have read the manuscript.
This is from the Alien Onion blog, which is the children’s book blog for my Australian publisher, Allen & Unwin. ‘October will see the third and final volume in the Keepers series by Lian Tanner. Path of Beasts. It is, quite simply, a triumphant conclusion. If the series had to end (and quite frankly I would have been happy reading about Goldie and Toadspit until the crack of doom), then it had to end like this.’
And here’s a comment from the Australian proofreader, Sonja. ‘I enjoyed every minute of it. When X* turned up I swear I had goosebumps! Ditto for the final showdown – an absolutely perfect ending. *sigh of happiness*’
* I had to X out the name or it would have given away a very important bit of the plot.

Oh Jess, wouldn’t that be exciting if the books did that well. I guess it partly depends on people who love them telling their friends about them!
Lian–My son, Samuel, and I enjoyed reading your first two books together. We are so excited about the new book coming out in October. It’s going to be hard waiting so long, but anticipation adds to the excitement, right? In the meantime, we will recommend your book to all of Samuel’s friends. Hi April and Samuel! It’s lovely to hear from you, and even nicer to know that you enjoyed the first two books together. It is indeed a long wait till October, for me as well – I’m dying to know what people think of the final book in the trilogy.
It’ll be hard to wait so long for it! We read the first two of your books in class! Our teacher always stopped at the exciting bits! I’ll make sure I tell her that the third books comes out in October! I can’t wait to see what Goldie dies i the path of beasts and what the fugleman! I love your books!

I think I have already asked this but i can’t find the page where i asked it – will there be any book signings or presentations or anything like that in NSW? sorry to be a nuisance :/
That’s okay, Daniel – I just did a cut and paste! There’s nothing planned for NSW at the moment, but I’ll have to wait and see. There’s a possibility that I might be coming to NSW later this year with a writing masterclass program, and if that happens I’ll try and add some other stuff in, like school visits and signings. I haven’t heard anything definite on it yet though. I’ll post on my blog and on my author facebook page if it’s going to happen.

When I was young it took 3+ years between movies and books in a series! Worse still – one author I liked had to do a double trilogy and then decide to continue it 15 years later!
Don’t be getting any ideas Lian!
My kids are really looking forward to the conclusion.
Hopefully Claudia Black will also read them for books on tape?
How deeply frustrating to wait 15 years for a follow-up! Hopefully that won’t happen here. Thanks for the message, Eric, and I’m glad your kids are looking forward to Book 3. I haven’t heard about Claudia yet, but I’m sure Random House will try to get her – everyone has loved hearing her on the previous two. So it will probably depend on what else she’s doing and whether she’s available.
I love these books!!! I first found about The Museum of Thieves through my mom’s iPad app an read it. Now I love it! I can’t wait for Path of Beasts!

Omg I NEED to read the third book. I read the first book a year ago and I am obsessed!!! I hope it comes to my citys library. I cannot affourd to buy books. When will it be published in canada? I LOVE YOUR BOOKS!!!!!!
Hi Daphne, I must say I like hearing from obsessed readers. 😀 The third book is being published in the US and Canada on October 9th, and I’m sure if you ask your library they will get it. But also keep an eye on updates to this blog, because I have a few advance copies to give away, and I’ll start the first giveaway tomorrow.

How exciting!!! We just can’t wait to read “Path of Beasts”! My daughter Kaity and I read the first 2 books together and she has re-read them over and over. She also listens to the audio book of “Museum of Thieves”. I don’t know who is more excited out of the 2 of us – Kaity says she is but I don’t know! Your books are a great read – can’t wait for the third in the series but we don’t want the series to end as we adore Goldie and her friends.

Hi Lian… I’ve been waiting with eager anticipation and can hardly wait any longer to read more about Goldie’s adventure. I’ll bet you’re bursting, too, and I’m with A & U, I could keep on reading about Goldie for quite a bit longer, though I’m sure you have other projects up your sleeve (hint hint)…
I have so many projects up my sleeve, Cate, that I am almost bursting with them. 😀 I’m about to start working on the editor’s notes for the new post-Goldie book, which was called Frozen up until last week, when it became ‘Ice Breaker’. I’ll post a bit more about that soon. When those corrections are out of the way, then I’m going to start on *trumpet fanfare* a prequel to the Goldie/Toadspit story! Right back to when Dan and Olga Ciavolga were children …

Although i haven’t read it yet i can’t wait to read path of beasts. Lian i think you are an amazing author and if your previous books are anything to judge by then this will be a book to remember. could you give me an exact release date so i can add it to my list of books i am waiting for to be released i would be very happy. thank you and good bye.
