Two weeks to go …

And we’re counting down! It has been an exciting week, with the postal courier arriving at my door once a day or more.
Character cards for City of Lies
First there was a package of books from Random House, with advance copies of the American edition of City of Lies. The next day the Australian edition arrived from Allen & Unwin.
Then, yesterday, I received a small package of character cards from Allen & Unwin, like the ones that Random House did for the first book (that’s where they got the idea). They’re very cute as you can see.
And today – the courier and I are getting to know each other quite well by this stage – I got a whole bunch of Australian covers to give away to schools, and a poster! (Apologies for the dreadful photo.)

I also heard this morning that I’m getting a gig on RandomBuzzers.com, starting on 26th September. It’s a great website – have a look. You can chat to the featured authors and ask them questions, write reviews etc. So I’m looking forward to logging in, having lots of questions thrown at me, and not having the slightest idea how to answer them. 🙂
Meanwhile plans for the grand launch are bubbling along nicely. AND there’s a new game coming! It’s going to be on the Australian website SOON, and I got to try it out last week. I warn you, it is NOT easy! But it’s fun, and you get to help Goldie in her desperate search for Toadspit and Bonnie.

The cards are lovely, aren’t they Roan. Unfortunately I don’t have many of these ones – they were made for the NZ market so I don’t have heaps to give away, as I did with the first lot. But I can certainly send you another bookplate!
I am sooooooo excited for the next book!!!!!!!!! It has been a long summer of waiting!!:( My friend and are allways talking about the next book.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the story goes where you thought it might go, Hannah. I’m very curious to find out whether people will be totally surprised at what happens, or not. I hope they are!

I wonder what’ll happen to Goldie and the rest! I’m excited to meet the new characters. I miss Goldie and Toadspit ahaha!

I tried to log into that random buzzers website but it isnt letting me. i signed up for it and loged in but it didnt work was there anything else i had to do to be able to log in?
Hi Christine, I don’t know much about the website unfortunately. I guess I’ll find out next week when I’m the featured author! In the meantime, go to and send them a message asking why you can’t log in. They should be able to help.

Hi, I am wondering where I can get the charater cards? Do they come with the book?
Hi Hannah, I’m afraid that I only have a few copies of the City of Lies character cards, which the publishers made for the New Zealand market. They sent me a few, and I’ve been giving them away to schools when I visit – one set per school! So I don’t have any of those spare to send you. I’ve got quite a few of the Museum of Thieves character cards however, which the US publishers put out. You can see a pic of them here. Would you like a set of them? I’m happy to send them to you!
