Australian Indie Awards
January 27th, 2011
To my great joy, Museum of Thieves has been shortlisted for the Australian Indie Awards, as selected by independent booksellers. The awards are designed to ‘celebrate the best of Australian writing of 2010 as chosen by independent booksellers’, and Museum has been selected as one of the booksellers’ four favourite children’s books for 2010. Also shortlisted in the children’s category were Mirror by Jeannie Baker, The Very Bad Book by Andy Griffiths and The Legend of the Golden Snail by Graeme Base. What a nice way to start the year!
And while I’m talking about nice things, Random House have produced some very cute collectable cards based on the book. They’ve got Goldie, Toadspit, the Brizzlehound, Guardian Hope and Herro Dan on the front – – and information about each character on the back.
(Sorry about the photos – I took them late in the evening when the light was bad.)
Ooh! How can I get some of those cards??? So nice!
Hi Romi, I’ll send you a set if you like. Email me your address.
Congrats on being shortlisted for the award! My wife and I have
read your book, and we both enjoyed it immensely. We look forward to reading the next book 🙂
Thanks Jason. I think one of the most exciting things for me is the august company I’m keeping in the shortlist. And I’m glad you enjoyed the book. It’s interesting how many adults are liking it – that’s something I didn’t expect. But I’m not complaining!
There’s something so divine about the Museum of Thieves. Congratulations!!
I know of a pack of Grott Monsters (small children) who are avid fans, and would love to help them get their paws on the cards – are they being sold commercially?
Congrats again – I too am one of the adults who loved it!:)
I’d love a set. Congratulations!
My daughter would love a set please Lian. We’ve both read Museum of Thieves and LOVE it!!!
