Fourth character cards giveaway!

It’s just as well the publishers sent me a nice big bundle of these cards – it’s such fun giving them away. But this will probably be my last go for a while, so get in quickly.
Today, to celebrate the fact that Path of Beasts will be released in the US this week, I’m giving away TEN SETS OF CARDS! And all you have to do is leave a comment below. If you’ve forgotten what they look like, you can see them here.
Here’s what’s happening over the next few weeks:
Next Sunday (14th Oct) we’re having the Hobart launch at the beautiful Baha’i Centre at 11 am.
Friday 19th October I’m driving up to Launceston (northern Tasmania) to visit my old school, Glen Dhu Primary. The next day we’re having the northern launch at Fullers Bookshop, Launceston, with a mask making workshop beforehand. 10 am for the masks, 10.30 for the launch.
The following week I’m off to visit schools in Sydney and Brisbane, and then I’m taking off for a holiday, up to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation, in northern Queensland for sun, swimming, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, and lots of walks in the rainforest.
Sound like fun? Yes!!!!
After all that, of course, I’ll be coming home to my little cottage by the beach, to get stuck into work on Brizzlehound.

Brizzlehound . . . Oh gosh, I have goosebumps already! Your holiday sounds amazing Lian. Oh and by the way I’ve decided not to send you a letter until after the launch so you might not get it until you get back from you awesome holiday. I went to the grerat barrier reif . . . I certainly don’t want to give any spoilers but . . . wow. And the special guest won’t be coming to the launny launch I gues??? Sucks so much! I’ll just have to go to both if my mum lets me, and I’ll beg and annoy ’till she can’t stand me any longer and takes me to the hobart as well as the launceston. Hopefully. Golly, I hope so! I’ve yot the impression it’s gonna be one of the keepers and how could I miss out on such a wonderful thing?! I can’t! I HAVE TO GO!!!!!
Hi Lily, I agree with WOW about the Great Barrier Reef – no that I’ve ever been there, but when I lived in Papua New Guinea I did a lot of diving and snorkelling on the reefs there, so have some idea what to expect. And no, the special guest isn’t coming to the Launceston launch. Can’t make it, I’m afraid.
I haven’t been to Sydney. Did you go to Manly? Everyone says Manly is so beautiful!

No, I don’t think they have houses or roads in Sydney. Only schools and bookshops. ๐
Oh. They said they could sea Sydney Cove’s gold, sandy beach, the glittering of blue water and the beautiful red sunset to finish the breathless scene. ๐

HI Lilli, I’m still waiting to hear back from my publisher as to where we are going in Sydney. I think we are visiting a couple of schools, but I don’t yet know which ones.

What other books have you written other then the keepers?
The first book I had published was Rats!, which I call my practice book. It’s nothing at all like the Keepers, but it’s fast moving and funny, and of course there are animals in it – I always like to have animals in my books.

Hi Shannon, someone else asked me that same question a while ago, and here’s what I said:
Try starting with one of these and see where it takes you:
Write about something you love.
Write about something you hate.
Write about something that scares you, or
the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you, or
the first thing you remember from when you were very small, or
the time when you felt really jealous of someone.
Itโs a good idea with stories to start with something you feel strongly about (either good or bad) which is why I have made the above suggestions. You donโt have to say itโs about you, of course. You can make the story about someone else, called โ um โ Bettina ๐ or any other name you fancy. And once youโve got started, you donโt have to stick to the truth. These are just jumping off points.

I love the keepers books. Thank you for writing them.
Sometimes I act like Goldie in trying to be like a shadow. I dressed up as her for our book week at school. Lots of kids kept ask me who I was. I told them Goldie No one. They said it was an impressive name and I showed them the City of Lies book.. It was a fun day doing the parade.
My Dad told me about the Cards you have made. If you have any others I would love a set of the cards. Or even just one of Goldie. She is my favourite. Her and Boo. Bye now.

Aha, now I understand the sign. Thanks for explaining it, Lilli. I DID have a good time today in Sydney, but I guess I didn’t go to your school … I’m sure you would have come up and introduced yourself! The two schools I went to today were Roselea Public School in Carlingford, and Tara Junior School in North Parramatta.
