R.I.P Diana Wynne Jones

The wonderful Diana Wynne Jones, author of the Chrestomanci series (amongst many others) has died. She is one of my all-time writing heroines. If you love children’s fantasy and you haven’t read her books yet, you are in for a treat. Go to the library, your local bookshop or wherever and start reading her IMMEDIATELY. The world has lost a wonderful author and a fine and funny imagination.

Yes. Have you read ‘Hexwood’? That’s terrific too. And I notice that she’s got a couple out that I haven’t yet read, so I’m off to the bookshop this week to see if I can find them. One is ‘The Game’ and the other is ‘Enchanted Glass’.

No, it’s one of her stand-alone YA/Adult books. It’s been out for ages – no idea if it’s still in print or not.
